WORD 2007 - resizing table columns

Hello,
In WORD 2003, when I worked with a table, there was a way to get (for lack of a better word) a display on top of the screen where I could move these little blocks to the left or right to resize a column. I did this by via putting the mouse on the block and dragging it.

In WORD 2007, I can't seem to get these "blocks" to appear.
Any ideas how?
Thanks
Steve

You need to show the horizontal ruler. There is a button at the top of the vertical scroll bar that switches the display of both rulers on and off.

Pardon my ignorance :), but where/what is my vertical scroll bar?
Thanks.

It's on the right side of the document pane.

It has an arrow at the top and at the bottom and there is a slider bar in between.
