Large USB Type A port

This morning, I looked at a client's Dell Latitude (can't recall the model) and told him with confidence that it had only one USB port. He pointed out a port on the left side of the laptop with aperture size about twice that of a typical USB type A port. I tried connecting his USB mouse to the port, and it worked. Sure enough, the tell-tale USB symbol was next to the port. What is Dell up to with this port?

Maybe it's a USB 3.0 port?  One model has USB 2.0 (2) - 1 USB/eSATA combo; USB 3.0 (2).

Dave Baldwin has the answer, its a USB/eSATA combo port.  My buddy is sitting beside me right now and his Dell Latitude laptop has the exact same port.
