C#.net + Open Application from Website and Send Values

Is there anyway to run an application on the server when the user pushes a button on a website, and also send values to the application from the website.

And how would I accept the values in the application?  The application is C#.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Every ASP.Net application runs on the website.

So if user of a ASP.NET application presses a button on the webform, this application can start another "ASP.NET" application which resides on the same Web Server.

And how would I accept the values in the application?  The application is C#.

Where is this C# application? and what kind of application it is? If it is a Winform C# application  you cannot run it. You need a C# Webform application.

If you make it more clear on exactly what you have and need I can give you a better answer.

This is possible if you put the Winform App in the same Virtual directory of  the webform on the web server.

You can user Process class to run the Exe file.  passing info back to the WEb app from the Winfrom app is very complicated as due to IIS security features these 2 apps many not be able to easily talk to each other.

You can make the win App write its data to a text file or database and web app read these data.
