Citrix app publishing vs streaming

Hi

Can someone explain whats difference between streaming and publishing. In which scenario I will use one of those options.

I want to give ie7 to vdi users either in streamed or published mode.
How many xenapp user license I need if ie is streamed and is there difference in case ie is published. Are there any other licenses I need to buy like Microsoft licenses

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Publishing - Application is executed in the Citrix Server. Server executes the application, and sends screen and mouse, keyboard updates to client.

Streaming - The application is streamed (copied) to the client, and executed in a sandbox on the client. Client executes the application.

The number of licenses, depends on the number of names users using or connecting to the applications.

You will need RDS-CALs, as well as Citrix Licenses.
