Transferring Windows 8

I am selling my laptop and want to put Win 7 back on it.  I currently have a downloaded legit Windows 8 that I want to take off and put on my wife's laptop.  Any special uninstalling rules I need to follow so I can reinstall Windows 8 later

nothing special at all.. you can transfer the upgrade version to another machine. just remove it from the existing machine and put back in the original o/s windows 7 and then install windows 8 on the new machine.

What was the OS that came with the Laptop?

If Windows8 does not come with Laptop that you want to sell, yes you can transfer the license to your wife laptop.
