I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I just ran into this two weeks ago :(
if you have a backup copy of this database
stop SQL server agent
Drop the database stuck in restore
and start a fresh restore

before you do that, please try just this:

if this helps, just fine.
if it does not, please check the sql server ERROROLOG for any information about the recovery of the databases

Normally I would use the recovery method as well
sadly when it was frozen in recovery mode it would not execute
RESTORE  DB1 with Recovery

and would crash :(

which is why I suggested stopping the agent

I'm puzzled what benefit stopping the agent would have, unless you are restoring MSDB.
