One file attached to multiple items in list

I'm entering in cameras into our SP 2010 inventory list and we have 2 or 3 of the same type so I can attach a product manual to one and it gets uploaded to our SP site but I'd like to attach the same file to the other item(s) with the file already loaded to SP.  Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to have the file on my computer and load it up every time, which could result in multiple copies if human errors occur?  I can find articles on how to attach multiple files but there should be a way to attach a single document to any item on a list that would benefit from that file being attached.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

imho you will have two options (without a lot of customization):
- Add the manual as attachment to the list entry (will result in having the same file multiple times)
- Create a central library for storing manuals,... and upload the document (once). In your inventory list create a Lookup field, point it to that document library and if necessary allow multiple selections. Then you can associate the manual to multiple list items

Ok thanks!   I figured that I would have to attach each one individually but was hoping there was another option I was unaware of.
