Citrix & Kyocera Private Printing with Internet Explorer

We are not able to get Kyocera Private Printing to work in Citrix PS 4.5 or XenApp 6.5 with the Kyocera TaskAlfa 6500i KX or Universal print driver as a mapped network printer or IP printer with proper prefs configured.

The Kyocera Private Printing feature in the driver is supposed to prompt the user for a code when they print and the code is required to release the job at the copier. This DOES work properly with Word, Excel, Notepad and PowerPoint in Citrix published desktop. HOWEVER, not with Internet Explorer...

When printing from IE 8, it properly prompts for code, but at the copier it looses the entered code and defaults to '0000' to release the job.

Any ideas?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Did you try installing the original printer's driver on the citrix server, auto-create local printers and print from there? Citrix UPD too has its own limitations, so we can only give a try.

Also option 2 is to map the Citrix universal printer that uses UPD. This will print to your default printer that is mapped locally.

Yes; I tried the KX and UPD both on Citrix server and the print server, no dice for IE in Citrix PS 4.5 or brand new XenApp 6.5 farm running Win2k8 R2.

Anyone know of where the Kyocera print driver stores its preferences/settings (i.e. duplexing, private printing, advanced settings), is it in the registry or INI file; I can't seem to find it even when I run ProcessMonitor/RegMon. If I knew, I could also set these parameters with a login script.

Turns out, changing the print driver from Spool jobs to Print directly to printer resolved the issue.
