Repair 0KB Exchange 2010 EDB

We have a new Exchange 2010 server that is being used to temporarily hold mailboxes.  After a reboot this morning the .edb file went from 276gb to 0kb.  Of course we haven't even taken a full backup of the server yet.  So now I have 276gb worth of log files but a 0kb EDB.  I have tried using eseutil without any luck.  Anyone have any suggestions?

This may have happenned due to a corrupted database header. Explicitly setting a
page size might bypass this failure.

You would be recovering the data & log files to a recovery database in hopes of recoving the datastore and mail.  Here is an article written by demazter (exchange juggernaut).

Its not really that simple but I would make sure you have a backup (even though you only have logs and a corrupt edb I would make a copy anyways.

Thanks for the reply.  These instructions are for restoring a EDB from a backup.  I don't have a backup.

the begining is to restore the files, which you currently have already.  Scroll past the restore part.  You will be trunking the logs and the datastore into a recovery database.  The logs are basically checkpoints with a start point of like E00, you will create a recovery database which is empty, use the ESEUTIL to replay the checkpoints back into the database for the recovery in an effort to restore your EDB file.

It is kind of a punch to the face but just read through it thoroughly for it is well instructed.  I had to do this and failed the 1st time but I took a backup of the files just in case.  2nd time was the charm, I just missed a step because I was busy quieting the hounds at the time.

Thank you!  I am replaying the log files now.  I'll cross my fingers.
