How to block CNN Live TV on their main web page.

When I look at a news web page, I want to read, I do not want a video to be playing at the same time that keeps distracting me (on the right side there is a window a little bit down the page).  Is there a way (I am using Mozilla Firefox), to disable this, and if I am able to do this, does this this prevent me from clicking on any video on any website?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I assume this video starts playing when you enter the site (as opposed to you clicking the big arrow).
Can't you stop the video from playing by clicking the ll (two vertical lines) button?
