Error when using PSSnapin in PowerShell 3 for SharePoint 2010 to work.

Hello Experts,

In PowerShell I typed the following:
Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell

Once I click Enter, I get the following error message:
Add-PSSnapin : The Windows PowerShell snap-in 'Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell' is not installed on this computer.

Any ideas on how to fix this so I can use the SharePoint cmdlets?

Thank you.
