Crystal report layout in multiple columns

I have crystal report with two groups Group I =  Club and Group II =  Club Role.
A club could have 10 club roles.
Club Role could have more members. Some Club role groups have one some two and some 4 members.
For club role group that have more than two members (e.g. Club_Role2,Club_Role3,Club_Role5,Club_Role7) I need to put lay out of detail section in two columns.
For club roles that have one member (e.g. Club_Role1, Club_Role4,Club_Role6,Club_Role8, Club_Role9,Club_Role10)I would to put those groups in two columns and they will have one detail section.
Is this possible?

Yes.

OPen the report
Right click the detail section in the left margin
Click SECTION EXPERT
CLick the box - FORMAT WITH MULTIPLE COLUMNS
A new tab appears to allow you to format the columns
Click the new tab
Set the width of the column as desired
Click to use ACROSS THEN DOWN

Hi mlmcc.
Yes I already did this and this is working.
However user is not happy with that, he wants to save on paper as report have large number of records.
And to do that user asked that for groups (club roles) that have one member those groups has  to be put in two columns(groups in two columns) with one detail line for each.

And for groups with two or more members they(groups) should be put in one column and have two detail lines.
It looks like I have to do not just detail line formatting in two columns but group section too. And this group section formatting in two lines has to be conditional.
A hope that I am clear.

Groups with two and more detail lines have to have two columns for those detail lines and not two rows with one detail line.
Groups with one detail line (one row) have to be put in two columns(those type of group going in two columns.
I am not sure that you understand what I want.
In short: In one report I need some groups to be put in two columns some in one column .
I attached some rough layout for orientation.

Does the single column have to be the width of the 2 columns?

Width of two groups with single columns put a side by side have to have the same width as one group that have two columns detail line layout.
Single column width in all those groups  is the same as they have to line up.

Crystal Reports

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.
