Airport Express use in a hotel

I have the  2012 version of Airport Express, an iPhone 4  & iPad Retina and would like to use the Airport Express in a hotel which has WiFi.
I do not have access to the hotel router or have any Ethernet capabilities only WiFi.
how can I use the AE to increase the WiFi signal in my hotel room which does have a weak WiFi signal. The signal is strong in the hotel lobby.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Airport Express can only be a wireless extender if the wireless access point of the hotel is an Airport Express router also.

Is there a solution for my requirement

You need to buy a wireless extender such as the ones in the link below.

Airport Express is of no use in your hotel scenario.

A review is shown in the link below.

Just plug the wireless extender to a socket near to the door of your hotel room to increase the signal strength of the wifi of the hotel.

But, there is a problem as you need to bring or borrow a notebook with a standard usb port to do the initial setup of the wireless extender.

There is another brand or model for wifi extender as shown in the link below.

It might be possible that you do the connection between the wifi extender with your iPad, iPhone at your home or workplace before your trip and do the connection between the wifi extender and the hotel access point with your iPad by connecting the iPad with the wifi extender and type to go into the web console of the wifi extender for making the connection between the wifi extender and the hotel access point.

You may need some IT skills/prior training  in doing the above and there is no 100% guarantee that it will work for all hotels as the hotel might have enforced security policy to restrict the use of wifi extender as there is normally a charge / fee for the use of the wifi network inside hotel room.
