outlook 2010 prompting 2 times for credentials - Mailbox is completly shown twice

hi,

outlook for some users always promptinmg twice for credentials. At MFCmapi
only see 1 mailbox installed. At the view of the left outlook side will shown

Hi, please check with the users whether they have changed their password, it seems they have saved the old password so first time the authentication is somehow taking the old password.

Why the mailbox account is shown twice in outlook? I think that also could be the
reason for the double login request.  The global settings should be ok because about
70.000 Accounts running fine. Only 100-200 user are affected.

Outlook folder

in the pic above the smtp adress is shown. in my case the same account is shown under
the account above (not in pic) but instead with the displayname with exact the
same messages and subfolders.

I cannot remove that and also the account cannot remove anywere in outlook.
Its only show one account in the settings. With mfcmapi the same.

The user as i describe always getting to login screens.

Try this, but outlook should be closed and no other make sure no other outlook process is running.

Outlook /cleanviews

Is it roaming profile ? have u tried configuring user account on different machine ?

You can also try below command, but outlook should be closed and no other make sure no other outlook process is running.

c:\program files\microsoft office\office14\outlook.exe" /resetfolders

You said that using MFCMAPI, it shows only one onemailbox right, if it shows twice then we would have delete the another one from it.

Also plesae check Data files in Account settings and check Dafault Outlook Profile.OST is shown twice or only one ?

The one with complete email adddress is the correct one and if you find your display name in that then you can remvoe that.

all these already checked with corrupt profiles and .ost. The department said it has to
do with their proxy.pac so we forward them to proxy specialists. Maybe they are able
to resolve this issue. appreciate for your help.
