Common Internet speed Mb or MB

Do Internet company's usually advertise their Internet speed in MB or mb?

For example I have 10 for a speed, but I'm not sure if that's in Mb or MB. I'm in a rural area, so we don't have fiber or anything.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The advertise in mb (megabits). So say for instance an ISP is advertising for 20mb. The actualy speed you would be getting would be 2.0MB/second.

Hope this helps.

Just a minor adjustment. The actual speed would be 2.5MB/second instead of 2.0MB/second. Sorry about that
