Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and MAC os X client

Hello all,

I have a Sharepoint server 2010 Foundation and i'm trying to create a "clickable" link to a shared folder on my network.  Everything works fine for my Windows users but for my MAC OS X client the link does not work.  What would be the easiest way to create a link to example:

Sharepoint does not allow me to link to a smb:// path...

Best regards,

Hi Mike,
how did you try to create the link? Is it in a list of type "Links" or a hyperlink column or just a content editor web part / direct page edit ?

Hello Rainerj,

I tried with the Sharepoint page creation tools and also i tried to edit the link with Sharepoint Designer.

I have a feeling that i'm not doing this the good/easy way, maybe you have a better solution.

What i wanna do is to create  2 link to a network folder on my file server (it is a QNAP NAS) one for windows client wich are \\servername\sharedfolder and one for Mac OS X client smb://servername/sharedfolder.

Cheers !

Hello all,

I have found an alternate solution.  We will use WinShortcutter for the Mac OS X user with browser extention.  Already tested and working well.
It is sad that we have to work with third party software, i hope sharepoint will get more Mac user friendly in the futur.
Cheers !
