Open application on clicking a link from html page
Hi Experts,
I have created a basic html webpage which resides inside the clients shared area. Basically the webpage is a kind of Standard Operating Procedure which has to be used by executives for their daily processing. Here all the links in the webpage works fine. But I have a query on one of the requirements actually raised. The requirement is to link all the applications used by executives, in the SOP, so that it appears to be one stop point. All the web applications I am able to link. But for some of the standalone applications (say Legacy) the link doesn't work. Actually the webpage resides in clients shared area and the standalone applications are installed in C drive of the system. Hence it is not invoking the applications. The whole system is in vm environment. But the same I have worked in my personal computer with positive results. Also I have tried from google the below
file://///servername/share name/path/ legacy.exe with not much luck. Now I receive a popup as invalid path. Could you please tell how to find out the servername and sharename from the clients network area or any alternative to achieve this.
Also the IE version is 7.
Thanks in advance.
