I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you tried to run the Export feature?

File > Export > Notebook > Export

This should open your Documents Folder on your SkyDrive account.

There is no Export on neither 3 apps: Skydrive thru Internet, Skydrive via windows 8 apps and onenote using ms-office (not the MX version).

There is no options on export.  If you have seen it, please provide guideline to get there.

Export option is through OneNote MX app in Win8.  Is this not what you are using?

It appears that a sorely mistaken!  Since I am running Office Pro Plus which comes with OneNote, it was defaulting to the Office version, not the MX version...

So, I did a bit of research and experimenting and I think I found the easiest solution:

Login to your SkyDrive account and go to the folder where the notebooks reside.

Use the Folder Actions > Download Folder option to save a local copy of the notebooks.

Does this help?

Just tried and in SkyDrive via Windows 8, there is no option to download a notebook, only files.

Also went to skydrive.com and same thing.  We did try to trick it by clicking a file and a notebook and it seem to download both in a compress file but when opening, is was not understandable; like it cut it in many pieces.

Please advice.

What is the file you are seeing?  .onetoc2 or .onetmp?

.onetmp are OneNote archive files.

If you can see the .onetmp file, change the extension to .one and open the file.

Actually we were opening it wrong.  We weere opening the onenote file from within the zip file SkyDrive does.  We extracted and it is there compltete.

Ok we can do a backup.

Thanx

FYI:
The solution is downloading the onenot by clicking with a file.  If you click just onenoe file, there is no option for downloading.

FYI:
The solution is downloading the onenote notebook but in SkyDrive Web version, not he windows 8.  Then you must click the notebook and another non-onenote file so the "download"option is displayed.
