Microsoft Exchange Mail Enabled Public Folders

I was asked to change the name and email address of a mail enabled public folder. Was able to do so successfully for one folder but the second I had problems with and eventually deleted it with the intention of recreating it however I failed to mail disable it before deleting the folder and the email address for the folder still appears in the GAL. Is there a way to delete this email address as when I recreated it the second folder had a 1 added to the email address (eg test.email1@org.com.au)

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you deleted the public folder which has mail enabled, the email address will also get deleted.
Wait for some replication time, then check if you could add the same email address to public folder.

Also you could try whether the email address has been allocated to which object using the following command

Open AD=> find=>

Click the Advanced tab and in the Enter LDAP query: field, enter the following text: proxyaddresses=smtp:test.email@org.com.au.
