Vmware migration small office

Hello,

My boss wants us to move to vmware - currently we have the following 2 Dell R310's as physical DC's, 1 hyper-vm running peachtree software.

We want to add Exchange 2013 and move everything to vmware. We have about 25 users and nothing crazy in terms of I/O.

I am new to vmware, but I am trying to figure what is a complete solution as far as what hosts to go with (dont need vmotion right now), what storage to go with (iSCSI?), and what backup i should go with (Veaam?)

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Great links thanks for that. I was thinking about 2 Hosts, what do you recommend? Also what do you recommend for iSCSI storage?

Two hosts is okay, if you are going to purchase VMware vSphere Essentials Plus.

What budget do you have to purchase storage?

Is software fine? Don't i need a hardware adapter for good speed?

No you do not need a hardware adaptor, software iSCSI and jumbo frames can outperform hardware iSCSI adaptors.
