oui.exe unable to locate component

Hi,

When installing oracle 10g(10.2.0.1) on windows 2008,service pack 2, 32bit ,
we are getting the following error message.
oui.exe unable to locate the component apphelp.dll

but being win 2008 sp2 i hev to ask, do you run the installer with elevated rights?

can you explain how to run the installer with elevated rights.
do you mean running the installer with administrative privileges. If so
yes, I am running the oui as an administrator.

Even though your accont is a local administrator some tasks requires that you right click on the program and choose run as administrator, thats what i meant.

From what i can find it looks like an issue with Windows more than an oracle issue.
To clarify that can you install another and newer oracle product, like an 11G client?

Have you used the same source to install from before?

I'm thinking you might not have unzipped all the files into the same folder.

1. we change to windows 2003
2. its working fine now with same oracle 10g(10.2.0.1)
