shared drive

I have a user that needs to access a shared folder only problem I have is that I don't know how to map share as I don't know the path.  I have tried to map to the server but it gives an error.
I am able to do a search for the folder in run command in win 7 and show the folder but it is the permanent share that I require.

any ideas?

From GUI, you type in \\servername\sharedfolder  (i.e. \\server1\sharedfiles)
Browse the share in the system by using  as said above and right click on the folder and you can see map network drive .Choose this option .The logged in user should have access to this share ,
