Accessing Google

Hello Experts,
What would you say are the main differences when accessing google from JUST "www.google.com" or "www.google.com/somecountry"
Besides getting a regional search, is there any other difference or feature I should consider?

is www.google.com a regional search only for america?
if that is the case how can I make a global search reglarless the región?

Were can I find these policies?
Kind regards,

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try with  www.google.com/ncr
The ncr stands for No Country Region/recognition

I simply type in www.google.com. If I get a country (Canada, in MY case), I go to the bottom right of the browser panel and click on google.com!
