slow log in

I am having an issue with slow log on speeds, i have enabled verbose logging through gpo to see where the issue is coming from it seems that folder redirection is causing the issue. Users are having to wait up to 5 minutes to access there machines. Any ideas on how this could be improved on?

By enabling Verbose logging, you've added more load to the server. This is probably causing the slowdown. i suggest turning it off and performing maintenance on the server and workstations before re-enabling it again.

Which folders are you redirecting?  Is it happening to every user?  In addition to folder redirection are you using any of the items listed in the askds blog below

As a test if you turn of the redirection for one user does that solve the problem.  Verbose logging is not the issue.

How are you handling printers?  Printer drivers get loaded at login.

cheers, the verbose logging doesn't seem to add much overhead it looks like it was the sync over the wan found a reg fix through that article to log in first without waiting for the drive connecting
