TS Web and Windows 8

Hi Folks,

I have deployed Terminal Services on Windows server standard FE and all is well. The remote users running windows 7 access the application via TS Web on Internet Explorer with no issue. The problem is with one user trying to access the same application but from a windows 8 machine. He gets to the icon to run the application, but it never opens. I have run a test with his account on a windows 7 machine and it works fine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you need more user cals? You probably access the app using the domain admin account which gets around most user cal issues.

Is the site added to the local intranet or trusted sites?  Have you tried compatibility mode in IE?

I use the individual username, we have enough cals. I have tried all the compatibility modes, I have got it to work with Internet Explorer 10 and Windows 7, but not Windows 8. The computer is added to the ts web trusted computers etc. This user has access on windows 7 just not windows 8.
Thanks

TG-TIS, the requestor is stating that users using Windows 8 cannot establish RD session to a server and not to Windows 8.

I would verify the option is active on the server that requires network authentication or a specific version of RDP to be used.

If the Win8 pc is located in the same network verify a ping is possible. If the RDP atteempt is from outside of the network, ceck to see if a VPN connection is missing on the Win8 Pc compared to the other pc's that do conenct.

Verify from a domain admin signon that access from a Win8 is not attainable.

Check any firewall in the network to see if the attempt is logged. if so, use that ifso to see if it's blocked and why.
