asked on

can't open AOL email in Internet Explorer

Hi,

I have an user who uses AOL email using the internet browser. All of sudden he can't open his email after logging into his AOL account. He can see the list of emails, but when he double-click one of them to open, it says "There was an error loading the message. Please try again later".

When I log into his AOL account on my PC, I can open his emails.

He has Windows 7 Professional 64bit OS with 2GB of RAM, 160GB HD.

So far, I have tried two  things:
 (1) Disable Popup blocker.
 (2) Tried other browsers such as CHROME and FIREFOX.

Thanks.

What version of IE?

Try IE with no-addons:

Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

If that works then you can disable all add-ons and enable one by one to find the culprit.

Also try setting IE to run in compatabilty mode.

Also look at the java version on your machine vs. theirs and update if needed.

Did chrome or Firefox open his mail successfully?   If not,  I would suspect a security program was blocking something,  so please tell us what security programs are installed.   All of them whether or not you are running them.

Hi Buddy,

You can boot the machine in safe mode and see if the Mails work that would also check if that is something with the Security Software or something else.

You can also try to reinstall the AOL and see if that works .
Also check to see if there is any update version of AOL if yes update your to the latest one.

Also update JAVA from www.java.com.

Kindly share the result if AOL works on other browsers.

Awaiting reply .

Thanks.

Anuj Bhatia.

Updating Windows updates solved the problem.

Web browsers are applications used primarily to display documents, files and media from the Internet, identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that can be a page, image, video or other file. Some browsers require the use of add-ons or extensions to safely render the information they receive; others have systems built into them to perform the same functions.
