iphone remote wipe through exchange 2010

i am just doing some tests right now as we are looking at putting temporary email account access on some iphones. since it's temporary, we want to be able to remove the account from the phones but we don't want to wipe them to factory settings as they belong to a group of users who have their own information on them.
We just want to delete the one exchange account that we are looking at setting up for them.

Is this possible?
If so, how can it be done?

I have an iPod Touch set up with 4 different email accounts and the last time I tried this, it wiped everything instead of just the one exchange account.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Unless you have MDM solution, you cannot delete the account on the iPhone, however, what you can do is delete the iPhone from ActiveSync devices for the user and disable ActiveSync if you don't want them to be able to get the email.  The users can then delete the account.  Remote wipe is to wipe the device to factory default.

Ok, thanks for info. We actually want to take just the exchange email and account off of the phone only but I'm seeing that there isn't that option to do that.

If you remove the associated ActiveSync device in Exchange and the account is not removed on the mobile device, on next sync, the device will be associated again.  Therefore, if you want to have the ability to remotely remove the email profiles then you need an MDM solution.  We are running AirWatch which is fine and another good MDM solution would be Citrix.

The leader for this task is Blackberry BES 10.
On the iPhone it can setup a completely seperate workspace, which I don't think anyone else can do. This workspace is completely isolated and holds everything the user needs. You can remove just the workspace at the end and it is gone.

How temporary is temporary? If less than 60 days the you can use the trial version of BES 10.

Simon.
