Since it is a built-in class, PHP does not provide the code.  It's just "built in."  The man pages describe the methods and show how to use them.

Conceptually this is the same as trying to find the code for strtotime().  It's not shown on the PHP site, but there is a good description and examples, with user-contributed notes.
