Cisco 6921 IP Phone not displaying Caller ID during Voicemail

All -

We recently migrated to a Cisco VoIP system. We have mostly Cisco 6921 phones throughout the building.

I've noticed that, unlike our old (Toshiba) phone system, when someone is listening to a voicemail, the Caller ID of the person leaving the voicemail does not display on screen during the call.

This is rather inconvenient and upper management is pressing me for a resolution to this issue.

I've got full access to Unity so hit me with your best shot - can't find any documentation at Cisco but I'm not very adept at searching their KB yet. Seems like there has to be a way to do this - not really an advanced feature.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well then, yes, there are several ways to obtain the caller ID from the person who left the message.

1- Modify the users' TUI (Telephone User  Interface) so that Unity announces the caller's ANI before playing the message:
 Go to the user page > Edit > Playback Message Settings >       Sender's ANI

2- Enable Visual Voice mail to see the caller ANI onscreen:

3- Have your users check voice mail from the PCA:

What Cisco VOIP system are we talking about? The server or the router?

So you want users to see on screen the number of the caller that left the voice message they are listening? Is that correct?

I'm using CUCM & Unity running on ESXi (not that the latter matters..)

And that is correct, our previous system would display the number of the person that left the message while the voicemail was playing

:( Okay then - back to the original question (although I will save the info on VV for our 79 series phones) - any solution for the 69 series??

Not a visual one. Just the modification for the system to add the caller number announcement during message playback.
