Excel 2013 Alternate Rows to be highlighted

I have a single excel spreadsheet with rows of data and i wish to highlight every second row for better readability. I can add a numbered control if required as an example BUT can you please provide a method to highlight the alternate row in grey for readability.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You could also turn it into a table which has that by default.

Select all the data (including headers) then go to Insert->Table and make sure My Table has Headers is selected.

You will now have different coloured alternating rows and your ability to sort and filter will also be built into the headers.
