Mac Mail and Exchange 2010

Hello, I have a Macbook running OSX Lion and want to connect Mail to a new Exchange 2010 server we have set up. Everything works great apart from this macbook, which no matter what i try returns:

MFEWSErrorDomain 56

whenever I try to connect, I have searched around for quite a while and not found anything that helped - do any of you have any ideas?
Many thanks,
