I am having problems with fireftp, the free ftp which is available as an add on for firefox.
the download does not seem to be working.
I click on it.  Up comes a box where I have to allow.
it then tells me that it will be available when I re-start firefox.
when i do so nothing happens.
I am using windows 7.
I cannot find the program anywhere.
it looks a very simple process but i cannot get it to work.
any thoughts please?

Sorry I was wrong, it should be under Tools->Web Developer->FireFtp

You can also Right Click on your toolbars, and select Customize, and drag  the FireFtp icon to a toolbar and it will show up there.  You can see that in my image as well.
First verify that you can use some other FTP client program to download the same remote file to the same local folder while logged in with the same user credentials.

yes I can.
the problem lies with the download process for the add on

After restarting Firefox,  isn't under Tools-> Fireftp?
