Android Best way to display array of pictures in my App

I am looking for feedback on what would be a good way to implement the UI on the following.

I have an app that the user can fire up the camera intent and collect pictures one at a time. Once the user collects all the images they want, I am sending them to a web service. They are not being saved to the file system on the phone at all.

I also need the images to each have 2 checkboxes with them for extra data input.

The layout is landscape and I would like to display some text on the LH side of the activity and have the images on the RH side. I would expect some type of gallery control that you can swipe to scroll through the images, and I don't care which way they would swipe if it is up and down or lh to rh.

So my questions are:
1.How do you do a layout like this?
2.What control would be correct to use for the handling of the images?
3.How do you extend that control to have the checkboxes or get them in the layout?

Thanks in advance!

1) You  an use the swipe view. You can find an example here.
2) What do you mean by "handling the images"?
3) Have a look at this.
