Best way to update PHPMYADMIN and retain database info?
Looks like my phpmyadmin is out of date. How do i SAFELY update it and ensure that no databases are adversely affected? Thanks!

phpmyadmin is just a PHP driven interface. Updating it should have no bearing on your database servers at all.

Also was having an issue with a table creation bug, so it was recommended that I upgrade to the latest version, which fixes it. Do you know how I find my current version? Thanks.
Try looking @ /phpmyadmin/doc/html/index .html
Otherwise it's under the "phpMyAdmin" section (lower right corner) of your phpMyAdmin Home page. Should read something like
Also /phpmyadmin/changelog.php, etc.
