Video conferencing and Whiteboads

I have a client who has requested a good video conferencing solution - which is one of very few things I haven't done before.
He has an office in Melbourne and associates in China that represent most of the meetings - however there will be need for staff to connect from home or other locations on their laptops.

Of particular interest is the need to have a whiteboard or even a tablet or both that can be shared for the meeting so people can collaborate on ideas.

Melb office has a fairly decent ADSL2 Connection  - China and other locations are out of our control.

I have commenced a google search, but I like the opinions on here.

We are completely open to suggestion subject to making it easy for the remote clients to connect.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I'll second WebEx it's got a good set of tools and it's relatively easy at decent cost. Not sure what their international rates are for calling in to confernce bridges between .au. and .cn though.

I'm assuming here that you're not really looking for a full on hardware-based smartboard solution.

There's a bunch of different software options, haven't tried them all but here's a couple I've used in the past.

http://awwapp.com/ - better for tablets, less useful on laptop/desktop PCs and doesn't have the same full on conferencing features as WebEx, but it's simple since it's all handled in browser

http://www.groupboard.com/products/ - couple different options including a free one. Actually a fairly decent mix if you have a individuals working in small groups. The nice thing about it is the ability to work with / import a bunch of different document formats.
