RDC pre-release expired
getting error of the pre-release version of remote desktop connection has expired,when trying to use rdc.
I have replaced mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll , in both windows/system32 and in the windows cache file...BUT after a few seconds it reverts back to old copies...what am i doing wrong?

Which operating system are we talking about here? Server 2012R2 ? This is the only pre-release software that is an RDP server that has licensing at the present time. Pre-Release software is not designed for production use. The RTM bits are available on MSDN/Technet.. You can use S2K12 not R2 CALS. (AFAIK)

Please post the OS (XP?), the architecture (32bit?), the edition (Professional?) and report if it is fully patched with SPs and HFs.

BTW: system files are protected by the OS against overwrite. This is why (likely) it reverts to the old copies.
