Should a meeting organizer invite herself as best practice of Outlook 2010?

I have a couple of meeting organizers in my organization complaning meetings are being showed on people calendars but for some reason some disappeared from their own calendar. These disappeared meetings were recurring meetings.

Now they cannot make any change in the meeting sent as they do not have the meeting in their own calendar.

Should a meeting organizer invite herself to avoid this issue?

How can I copy/move the meeting back to their Calendar?  I could not find it in the Deleted Items.

As silly as this sounds, the meeting organizer would invite themself, by default.

As far as having to re-invite themself, that definitely seems wrong.

If invite my co-workers to an conference call, I would send it to them..  I would never think about the meeting again until the appointed time comes up.

Are there mobile devices involved here? Do not create or accept meeting invites on iPhones or Android (if they are in use)
Re-invite the meeting organiser from someone who still has the meeting current.

You will find for a recurring meeting if an isolated instance of the meeting is deleted then sometimes the entire recurrence will be deleted as well.
