Uninstall Exchange? SBS 2003 to Server 2008 R2

Hey, We are performing an SBS 2003 to Server 2008 migration with hosted exchange.

All is great and we just need to demote the SBS server now, however is it required that exchange 2003 is uninstalled first from the SBS server?

I know this is the case in the SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 migration, however if hosted exchange already in place can it not just be demoted? Cheers!

"...we just need to demote the SBS server now..."

Do you mean you want to demote the SBS 2003 server from DC to member server or stand alone server (if yes, specify which one of the 2 options)?
Is the SBS 2008 server in the same domain as the 2003?

Sorry, yes demoting the SBS 2003 server to the member server. It is a Server 2008 Standard that is now the primary DC.

I second cgaligher's comment - remove Exchange now or it will cause you pain further down the line if you decide to move from hosted back to in-house.

Short-cuts now will mean lengthy problem solving later!!
