core java concepts

Hi,

I often confuse with core java concepts relating to below topics

1. collections
2. threads
3. exception handling.

what are the best, simple URLs on the net to browse daily to reinforce these concepts quickly with working examples. What are the best books for this.

Please advise.

Any links resources ideas highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The Java tutorials do a very good job of explaining this sort of core concept and include a lot of clear examples:

http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/collections/intro/

http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/essential/concurrency/

http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/essential/exceptions/

Start with those and see how you get on,
