Delete all Gmail messages

Does anyone know how to delete all messages in a folder on Gmail?

When I do the "select all" checkbox it only deletes 50.  I need to delete over 40,000.

How about connecting to your Gmail from Outlook/Windows Mail?  Use IMAP and not POP3 as when you delete the 40k messages, it will do it directly on Gmail.

Or from gmail you can click the arrow to the right of a label and select Remove Label.
