Need timer event to change formula

I need a timer process to run in seconds that will either mimic closing and opening a workbook without actually closing and reopening as this is currently the only way a formula updates from an add-in or do a loop to change the formula by deleteing the "=" and addit it back.  Formula would be =(a:1+b:2) for example.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

User defined functions does not automatically recalculate with worksheet calculation.
Only if the input to the function change.

To make the function recalculate every time the worksheet calculates, insert Application.Volatile
as the first line in the function.
