Sharing master page between web application and MVC application

Hi Experts,

I have 2 different stand alone applications. One in  and the other one in MVC4. I would like to make reference to ASP.NET web application's master page in my MVC application.(Web application master page has menus and some session variables) I really don't want to merge the applications under the same solution. Could anyone please let me know how to implement this(preferably with some sample)

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thanks for your reply.

The links give an idea to share master page between web and mvc in the same solution however mine is a 2 different stand alone application and I want to use the master page from the web forms application. (That master page has lot of code behind logic like loading the menu from dataset and storing session variables.)

Basically what we are trying to do is... we have an existing webpage in ASP.NET and we would like to add link to external application(which is in MVC). We want to retain the layout and navigation menu as it is.
