Watching Internet Streaming Video in Win7

I can watch Xfinity CNN and MSNBC on my Win7 desktop.  However there are limitations.

I can save MSNBC and CNN in the  Chrome browser to make switching easier.  But the volume is adjusted to maximum when switching.  In addition,  I have two screen choices, minimized and full screen.  Also when switching, a new authorization is run instead of saving the previous authorization allowing for faster switching.

Is there an application plug in that would control the video and audio settings in IE and Chrome?

Xfinity requires authorization verification before access is granted.  That eliminates external devices from access.  So we need a browser like Chrome or IE to permit access to Xfinity.net and login capability that Comcast will recognize.

Will Netflex permit Win7  authorization form an application that is not run on a browser?
NetFlex will run on a SmartTV from its own app and also on an Ipad Netflex app.

Comcast cooperated with multiple apps with Apple for the Ipads and Iphones.  Wonder why no help for Win7?   Microsoft couldn't or wouldn't allow?

I wonder if Apple has an app for this to support the Macintosh and Apple laptop systems?

Hope you can help,
Howie
