I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Did you create an installation package for your application or just copied the .EXE?

You need to deploy any requirements including the .Net Framework (the same version your app is targeting) itself to any computer running your application.

what .net framework is installed on your window 7 station? You can see it by checking your list of installed programs.  Go to you computer Control Panel and select 'Add or Remove Programs'. If you are using Windows 7, you may just need to click the 'Uninstall a program' link instead. Don't worry, you're not going to uninstall anything.

Default .net framework for windows 8 is 4.5, so for anything below that, I would recommend to update to .net 4.0 or .net 4.5 .

here is for .net 4.0 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2468871

emoreau, I did justcopied the cotents of the reléase folder from that Project, then installed the .NET 4.5 framework on the win 7 machine.

Asafaq, I will try now with 4.0 uninstalling 4.5 since the destination machine is win 7

that might be it. Your computer needs the same framework version your application is targeting.

Is it a standalone or requires installation?

RGuillermoProject ManagerAuthor Commented:
standalone

check your project to find out exactly what version it is targeting.

also check your references to see if any other components are required.

You don't have to uninstall a Framework as they all can co-exists on the same computer.
