Server MS 2008 R2 AntiVirus Protection

I just started administering a single server running MS server 2008 R2 and don't see any anti-virus on it. I just want to confirm that MS 2008 R2 does not include it's own built in anti-virus and does need to have a McAfee or Symantec running on it. Which anti-virus would you recommend, I've seen mostly McAfee in my experience.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You could download and run "Microsoft Security Essentials" (or another that you like).

So it sounds like antivirus software should run on the server.
