Can't get rid of hover blackground

Hello!

I have been using firebug for at least an hour to try to figure out what is controlling a grey background color in a menu.

I am using a menu component. And to help me track down the module I added an "additional" red background -- just as a visual way to help me track down the elusive color.

The hover color is grey. I think it is #D1D1D1 but I am not sure.

In my next comment I will post the link to the development page.

Thanks!

Here's the link;
Link to redirect page to the actual page :)

The menu is the top menu  And if you hover over the words ABOUT or PEOPLE you will see the grey background.  I can get rid of the red background.  Just need to find out what is controlling the grey and get rid of it!

Thanks!

Hi Dave,

As an ugly color glaring test, I changed the css to

#nav1 ul.menu li li:hover > a {
  background: #ffff00;
}

Open in new window

Getting there, but if you go back to the page, it is only affecting the submenus.

I first tried GaryC123's solution first in the bootstrap css file  and that has fixed it.

 .nav > li > a:hover {
    background-color: #EEEEEE;
    text-decoration: none;
}

Thanks!

I also think  padas would be good, too because it appears to be very specific to the menu ID.

div#maximenuck ul.maximenuck li.maximenuck.level1:hover {
background: #FF0000;
}

Would a more specific css fix  such as padas  be better overall?

???

padas' solution was removing the red background that you put it in to test ;o)

Use GaryC123's solution. However, I would not monkey with the bootstrap css file and instead create your own custom.css or whatever you want to call it and put your modifications in that file.  The reason is you may later update bootstrap and your modifications will be lost.  Load your custom.css last.

Okay. I moved it to the custom.css, and now will award points for everyone's help....
