Font smoothing WIndows 7 + Office 2013

I upgraded to Office 2013. Fonts look awful in it. I reinstalled WIndows, I even tried a different graphics card! The same crap!

Office 2013 vs Wordpad

I noticed that e.g. in ebay when I add a new item, fonts look like this:

Why is that? I tried two graphics cards and a fresh install of Win7 every time... I am confused here.

It is acceptable in ebay etc, it is NOT acceptable in Office. When I zoom in, it is better... I tried to follow some online tips: disable hardware acceleration etc.

Try "Adjust ClearType Text" option in display settings. Its located on left side in Display options window. Its a wizard which will walk you through all the way to set ur font settings.

How much RAM Memory do you have installed on your PC?

What version of Office did you previously have?

If you have 2GB of RAM or less, I suggest you try installing more RAM.

Make sure you install Office updates from windows updates. If you dont get any updates make sure you've clicked on this.

I have office 2013 installed on my pc just fine and it doesn't look like what you're seeing.

Seems like you're not the only one who's experiencing this.  Apparently if nothing works, you'll have to either call microsoft and see if they come up with a solution or get a previous office install.

wasim-shaikh, I went through the Adjust ClearType options.

1. 4GB
2. I had Office 2010
3. I have put all possible updates including SP1

What is strange - I replaced the graphics card... what can cause it then? System board? I tried Radeon and Geforce graphics cards and every time I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7...

I noticed something very, veyry strange. I was connected to my PC with VNC and... fonts look great. Any ideas? I am really confused now!

I dont think the font problem that you have is related to any hardware, I remember when I installed windows 8 I had similar problem. screen fonts were crippled or thin.
I increased the font size, and changed ClearType text, and things were fine.
