retrieve a log of 404 errors on Google Webmaster Tools

Hi.

My site is accruing analytics data on Google Webmaster Tools.

Am I able to retrieve a log of 404 errors on this service?

I recently changed eCommerce platforms. I would like to see if there are more 301 redirects that maybe I missed.

Anyway, a historical log of 404 errors would help with that and other things.

Please help, preferably with a screenshot. THANKS!

Do you have server stats?  If you can use those it would be easier as there should be a report of 404 and other errors.

Otherwise, if you can get to your webmaster tools account you want to click on "Crawl" in the left navigation.   Then click on  Crawl Errors.

Your own logs and server stats would be better.

You could set a tracking on the 404 appending the looked for url (script below) then use filter views to search for the 404 and get the From url

<script type="text/javascript">
try{
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-XXXXX-X");
pageTracker._trackPageview("/404.html?page=" + document.location.pathname + document.location.search + "&from=" + document.referrer);
} catch(err) {}
</script>

Open in new window

Ermm what type of tracking are you using async or the old way? May need to change the script above.
