Identify data on LTO tape drive

I am in the process of attempting to identify the data on a Ultrium LTO tape.  I have it installed in a dell server with Win 2008 r2.  Looking for a utility that can identify the data, type.
Any ideas?

Not sure how you can do this easily under Win 2008.

If you don't have any issues taking the server offline briefly, get a Linux boot CD, boot up under a gui (to make access to your email easier) and fire up a console/terminal, from where you can access the tape at a 'raw' level and hex dump the first block with the following command:

dd if=/dev/st0 ibs= 256000 count=1| hd > /tmp/dump.txt

this will create a file in the /tmp directory called dump.txt and if you post the contents of it here, we'll tell you what the data is.
