Getting |The Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated." Events on Our RDS Server

Hi,

Today, at 10:30am  users could not log on to the Remote Desktop Server. The Application Event Logs is full of the below entry;

Log Name:      Application
Source:        Microsoft-Windows-Winlogon
Date:          16/09/2013 16:32:28
Event ID:      4005
Task Category: None
Level:         Error
Keywords:      Classic
User:          N/A
Computer:      SRV2.Domain.local
Description:
The Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated.

A reboot temporarily fixes it.

The Netlogon services is running and restarts okay.

the Hardware performance on the server is fine, as in plenty of RAM and CPU power available.

Any help is welcome.

Hi,

This can be caused by several problems like available resources (memory, hdd space) or registry corruption.
Please follow this step by step from Microsoft and try if it can give you a clue.
